Event Photography for The Glam Pod

The best thing about event photography is you never know what you going to have to do on the day. I usually try to recce the location in advance just in case it has some crazy lighting issue or is going to be far away from where I need to park – and carry gear- or whatever. But sometimes it’s in a fabulous beauty salon full of beauty products and colourful makeup. One of the perks of event photography – I am a lucky girl!

On Saturday I was working at a new salon in Tralee called The Glam Pod which was celebrating their first anniversary – one year of beauty and style in Tralee. To celebrate their first birthday they had Roz Purcell there to help promote the event and host a talk with Claire Scally Life Coach and the beauty blogger Mary O’Donnell. And, of course I was there, enjoying the atmosphere and providing the event photography.

At times event photography can be tough, some locations can be challenging and given the Irish weather outdoor events can be unpredictable to say the least. This event however was more like a day of pampering in an absolutely lovely salon with some great gals. It was way too much fun!

Another guest at the first birthday celebrations was Mary O’Donoghue from Sanctuary Beauty School, a beauty school which is above The Glam Pod. Mary was there to recruit new candidates for her very successful beauty school. Mary’s beauty school has a great reputation and goes form strength to strength each year. Her girls have an impressively high employment rate year on year which is great.

All in all I enjoy all types of event photography but want to thank The Glam Pod for opportunity to work with them on such a special day for them. I’m looking forward to the second birthday already. Before then though I’ve got lots of other photography events coming up and will be using some of my new photography equipment – bring it on.
